Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups (960ml) chicken broth
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 cups (200g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to ‘Sauté’ mode. Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
  2. Add the chicken broth, potatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to ‘Manual’ or ‘Pressure Cook’ mode for 8 minutes.
  4. Once the cooking cycle is complete, perform a quick release of the pressure.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions or parsley.
  7. Tip: Add a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of bacon bits for extra flavor.
