Ingredients
- 2 cups dry ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients and have them ready. This will make the cooking process smooth.
- Set your Instant Pot to Sauté mode and add the olive oil.
- Add the dry ziti pasta, making sure to coat with the olive oil so it doesn’t stick together.
- Pour in the water and marinara sauce. Stir well to ensure the pasta is covered by the sauce and water.
- Season the mixture with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir lightly.
- Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to Manual mode (or Pressure Cook) on high pressure for 6 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is complete, do a quick release of the pressure by turning the valve to venting, using caution as the steam will be hot.
- Open the lid carefully and stir the pasta. It will absorb some more liquid as it sits.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top of the pasta. Do not stir.
- Place the lid back on and allow the residual heat to melt the cheese for about 5 minutes. Turn off the Instant Pot.
- Before serving, give the pasta a gentle stir to mix in the melted cheese. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Instant Pot Baked Ziti!
