Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients and have them ready. This will make the cooking process smooth.
  2. Set your Instant Pot to Sauté mode and add the olive oil.
  3. Add the dry ziti pasta, making sure to coat with the olive oil so it doesn’t stick together.
  4. Pour in the water and marinara sauce. Stir well to ensure the pasta is covered by the sauce and water.
  5. Season the mixture with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir lightly.
  6. Secure the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to Manual mode (or Pressure Cook) on high pressure for 6 minutes.
  7. Once the cooking time is complete, do a quick release of the pressure by turning the valve to venting, using caution as the steam will be hot.
  8. Open the lid carefully and stir the pasta. It will absorb some more liquid as it sits.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top of the pasta. Do not stir.
  10. Place the lid back on and allow the residual heat to melt the cheese for about 5 minutes. Turn off the Instant Pot.
  11. Before serving, give the pasta a gentle stir to mix in the melted cheese. If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves.
