Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) sausage (Italian or your choice), sliced
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to the ‘Sauté’ function. Add the sliced sausage and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage and set aside.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the pot. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage, chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to ‘Manual’ or ‘Pressure Cook’ mode for 5 minutes.
  5. Once the cooking cycle is complete, perform a quick release of the pressure.
  6. Open the lid and stir in the cooked sausage. Adjust seasoning if needed.
